The Out Patience Department is an integral part of the hospital to run that provides diagnosis and takes care of the patients who cannot stay overnight. These are specially meant for outpatients. The types of services include general medical care, specialty clinics, diagnostic testing, and surgery.
The department also includes in-patient services and physicians and surgeons who take care of inpatients in the ward-cabin and are consultants in the OPD. Before being admitted as an inpatient the examination and treatment take place in the OPD. The patients who are in-patient and get discharged also visit the OPD for follow-up.
