Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with diseases of the heart. The heart is a vital organ for survival, maintaining blood supply to various parts of the body. Any abnormality in the heart can be life-threatening. Common diseases include heart block (where the heart cannot contract at a normal rate of 75 beats per minute due to a defect in the heart’s conductive system), myocardial infarction (a blockage in one of the arteries supplying the heart, compromising blood flow and preventing the heart from contracting enough to pump blood), and tumors of the heart like atrial myxoma or heart failure, which may be due to increased demand as in anemia (high output cardiac failure) or decreased supply due to myocardial infarction (low output cardiac failure).

We are one of the pioneering institutes of Cardiac Care in this part of the country, covering the complete spectrum from invasive to non-invasive procedures. With a highly trained team of cardiologists, we handle a large number of cases every year. Our facilities include 1 Cath lab, modernized CCUs, and Cardiac Catheterization laboratories using digitalized technology.

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, where procedures like angiographies and angioplasties are performed, is a state-of-the-art, fully digital panel Cath lab in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The flat panel technology replaces the image intensifier technology, which has been in use for many years.

Team of Cardiologists

Our team of cardiologists is trained at the top institutes in India and abroad, dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cardiac disease. Our pioneering work in preventing and treating cardiac diseases has led to better outcomes and improved quality of life for thousands of cardiac patients who visit us each year with complex heart problems. Our advanced infrastructure, including third-generation Cath Labs, Cardiac Critical Care Units, and Intensive Care Units, supports the complex nature of the cardiac care we provide, making us one of the best heart hospitals in the world.

The Department of Cardiology at AHL Cardiac Center is a pioneer in bringing world-class cardiac care to India, determined to provide state-of-the-art and proficient care to heart patients at an affordable cost. Our highly qualified team of cardiologists, along with the latest technology, ensures the best possible care for a wide spectrum of heart diseases.

Cardiology Department

The Cardiology Department provides the best of services in terms of accurate diagnosis and professional treatment. Our experienced team of doctors specializes in cardiac bypass surgery, minimally invasive surgery, interventional cardiology, and non-invasive cardiology. We also provide ambulatory systems for emergencies along with non-invasive image processing, echocardiography, stress tests, cardiovascular CT’s, and thallium heart mapping, among many others.

The cardiac cath lab is currently the hub of activity in any cardiac unit, considering the increasing need for angiography/percutaneous techniques like coronary angioplasty (ballooning). Our staff is well-qualified and leaders in their respective fields.

Angioplasty (or Balloon Angioplasty)

Angioplasty (or Balloon Angioplasty) is an endovascular procedure to widen narrowed or obstructed arteries or veins, typically to treat arterial atherosclerosis. An empty, collapsed balloon, known as a balloon catheter, is passed over a wire into the narrowed locations and then inflated to a fixed size. The balloon forces expansion of the stenosis (narrowing) within the vessel and the surrounding muscular wall, opening up the blood vessel for improved flow. The balloon is then deflated and withdrawn. A stent may or may not be inserted at the time of ballooning to ensure the vessel remains open.
