The Oncology Department at AHL is a dedicated centre of excellence that offers comprehensive cancer care, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care for all age groups. Cancer is potentially curable if diagnosed and treated in its early stages. Even in late stages, where a cure may not be possible, patients can be treated to have a meaningful life with the disease. Correct diagnosis and management are of paramount importance.
AHL has brought together expertise within the hospital to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients with all types of cancers, including solid tumours and blood-related diseases. Oncologists determine the evidence-based treatment strategy for each individual based on various factors such as the site, extent, and stage of cancer, the biology of the disease, the patient’s performance status, and associated medical conditions, with the involvement of the patient in decision-making.
