AHL holds a part of Plastic Surgery-based Medical Center of excellence specializing in the comprehensive treatment of burns – from acute care and reconstruction, to rehabilitation and psychological counseling. Since we first began we have earned a reputation as the innovative leaders in burn treatment. Many pioneering innovative techniques which are now standard practice in the treatment of many burns can be avail here. We are distinguished by the compassionate, nurturing, personalized and team-centered ways we provide treatment. Our experience has shown results in less patient discomfort and speedier recoveries with better results.
If you have a severe wound, such as a burn that has limited your mobility, causes a loss of sensation, or is cosmetically unappealing, plastic surgery may be an option.
The separate Endoscopy room is available in the hospital building. Large rooms provide patients comfort and privacy during procedures. Gastroenterologists on staff specialize in the care of adult and geriatric patients. Our nurses, most of whom are gastroenterology-certified, assist during procedures.

At AHL, for severe wounds, you may have to undergo debriding, which is the removal of dead tissue, prior to reconstructive surgery. Once that is done, there are several types of wound treatments available at AHL:
- Debridement: Removal of dead or damaged tissue to promote healing.
- Skin Grafting: Transplanting skin from one area of the body to the wound site.
- Flap Surgery: Moving tissue from one part of the body to another to cover the wound.
- Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT): Using a vacuum system to promote wound healing.
- Burn Reconstruction: Restoring function and appearance after severe burns.
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: Enhancing wound healing by increasing oxygen levels in the blood.
