Internal medicine is the first point of contact for most adult medical problems. Our physicians assess undiagnosed symptoms, manage long-term conditions, and coordinate care when more than one specialty is involved.
What we assess
- Fever, fatigue, unexplained weight change and other general symptoms
- High blood pressure, diabetes and raised cholesterol
- Long-term conditions needing regular review and medication adjustment
- Pre-operative medical assessment
- Referral onward to the right specialty when a problem needs one
Your appointment
Bring a list of your current medicines, any previous reports or discharge summaries, and a note of your main concerns. Most first appointments include an examination and, where needed, blood tests or imaging arranged the same day.
