Children’s kidney problems differ from adults’ in their causes and in how they present, and treatment has to account for growth.
Conditions we manage
- Urinary infections, particularly recurrent infection
- Protein or blood in the urine
- Nephrotic syndrome and swelling
- Congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract
- Bedwetting and daytime wetting beyond the usual age
- High blood pressure in a child
- Chronic kidney disease in childhood
What helps at the appointment
Bring your child’s growth record, any previous urine or blood results, and details of previous infections and the antibiotics used. Growth is one of the most useful indicators of how well a child’s kidneys are working.
