Psychiatry is the medical assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. A first appointment is a conversation: what has been happening, how long for, and how it is affecting your daily life, sleep and relationships.
What we help with
- Depression and persistent low mood
- Anxiety and panic
- Sleep problems
- Obsessive-compulsive symptoms
- Bipolar disorder and psychosis
- Alcohol and substance use
- Mental health difficulties alongside a physical illness
Confidentiality
What you discuss stays between you and the clinical team, other than in the rare situations where there is a risk to life. You are welcome to bring a relative to your appointment, or to be seen alone.
If you are in crisis
If you are thinking about harming yourself, do not wait for an outpatient appointment. Come to the hospital or call the hotline.
